What does html5 boilerplate do for you that you can't do by yourself?

Hello,

I’ve been reading the html5 boilerplate docs, and I can’t get what exactly it will do for me. Just include some js files and have a .htaccess ready?

Am I missing the point here?

Think of it like Eric Meyer’s css reset. It’s a tool that will give you a place to start, and once you’ve found a pattern/technique that works better for you, stop using it.
