One way, Including directory, article submission, press release, rss submission, blog commenting and getting links from social bookmarking sites.
Two way or you may call it reciprocal.
3way & 4way link exchange.
I believe in developing the content for your site rather than focusing on the seo aspects.
If your site is good enough to impress your visitors they will do the rest for you.
unique and interesting content helps a lot

that’s right. and 3 way is also consider as one-way link… and 4 way… never heard of that one…
This thread should be locked since the OP could have done a forum search to get multiple answers to this question.
I am the same always looking for better more unique way to get good links, but as somone has said above make the site good and people will build links for you.
