ok so as some of you know i got a site up in regards to point of sale and I am concerned with the keyword “point of sale chicago” and i got a blog running and all that but I am not getting high on the keyword ranking for point of sale chicago. what am i doing wrong? please help.
A few things:
-
Your POS page (/point-of-sale.php) doesn’t have very much content. I’d like to see you elaborate on that page and even create additional pages supplementing your offering.
-
Your address doesn’t have Chicago in it. I realize that you’re in a suburb of Chicago but you may want to either get a PO box in Chicago or add something about Chicago near your address.

You’ve only got 36 inbound links. I’m not able to see exactly what those links are so I’m not sure how related they are to your content. Regardless, you’ll want to continue building links. You have a blog but not many people are linking to it. Why not? Maybe the content needs to be more useful. Blogging is a great way to build links if the content is quality.
Hi,
see, choosing the right keywords for the site is not the guaranteed way to get high rankings on search engines. There are so many other factors like On Page Optimization, Off Page Optimization, Content of site etc that are considered by search engines while provided rankings . So you must take care of all the other factors also .
You haven’t mention your keyword in the views source, just update your on page with your keyword. Mention the keyword in your site title.
Your content seems confusing as well, does this company really offer POS systems and security cameras, along with SEO and web design services?
I think it would be easier to optimise the site if you narrowed down the niche/purpose of this particular website.
there’s alot of things to consider… and ranking kw usually takes time, and it also depends on the status of your targeted kw… remember that there are also other that might using or targeting that particular kw… i suggest to lurk on your other competitors, it can give you some idea on what are they doing…
they do a lot.
do some research on the market then go for off page optimization.
that’s not helpful in any way.
You don’t have your keyword phrase in the anchor text of your signature links. It won’t actually help you on Sitepoint anyway because searche engines can’t see your sig links but you should be doing that if you want to target that phrase.
If you want to rank well you have to look more useful to Google for that phrase than all your competitiors.
Like JeffWalden said, build backlinks! Start a twitter account or facebook and start socially networking your site to everyone.
Start by chaging your title to point of sale chicago since that’s the keyword you’re going for.
Build deep links to that specific page but don’t forget to build links to other pages.
You should also target other related keywords and keep to 1 page per keyword with deep links to those pages.
Also mention your keyword in your h1 h2 tags, image tags.
Since your product is also probably a high cost item, try to build an email list and follow up with your prospects.

If your blog is product page? Do Craig list for your particular product page. Your site seems very nice, but upload at least 250wds of description in front page. And do link building.
you need to narrow down your niche and try to optimize it that way first and then more on and add some more content and new categories
