What do you think about buying domain name that has the .me extension? .me is for Montenegro. But apparently anyone can buy it now.
Is it a good idea? A fad? Or no value?

Really you should have added “Depends” to the poll.
I say it depends because the .me domain is also used for personal websites, blogs, resumes, etc. If you are a graphic or web designer then I think it’s a good idea to have yourname.me for an online resume or portfolio if you’re looking to work in an agency.
I suppose that is good ccTLD domain name extension and in the most cases that is being considered as alternative to some TLD.
I have heard about some good sales of those domain names on the namepros.
It is just a country code TLD it means nothing but what ICANN says it is.
So I say it is just a fad with no value.
This tld usually use for personal sites. I don’t think there is much value in them as raw domain. Maybe there is a for those high paying one word keyword domains. Apart from that I doubt there is much value unless there is a site and it has huge traffic volume.
Good domains are keywords good keywords can still rank high later when .me are more respected by Google. .com’s are best.
I think you can use .me for a personal webpage. More like a self made myspace or facebook page. I’d say use it if you don’t have SEO in mind…

I agree .Com supercedes all because of the traffic it can generate.
