Looking for some inspiration for my freelance web design site. Anyone know some websites that cleanly integrates a city scape?
I have this panoramic picture of my city that I took, that I would love to somehow incorporate into the design, but I am not sure I am heading down the right path here. Below is what I have so far (resized a bit to cut on load time), and the original photo.

I like your shot of the city. It has a lot of nice tonality and color. I would avoid using it in the manner you are currently designing for your interface. It’s way to heavy and it would be a struggle for your content to become focal, which is best of course. I would have a hard time focusing on the content because the city would be a distraction on the sides like that. It has the most contrast. Whatever has the most contrast will usually take up the most attention. That should be your content, not your supporting graphics. I would consider using it similar to the matter in ralph’s example, as a simpler decorative element.
