I have a friend who has just been through a tough couple of years. As a result they would like my assistance in starting a website that deals with a subject I’m not comfortable directly associating my name with. I don’t mind assisting my friend but that is as much as I want to do.
I do not want to register the URL or purchase webspace in my name. Is my best option to start an account with a host under his name?
Well you can purchase an option to hide your WHOIS/FTP space information so you can maintain the account under your name and you’ll be absolutely safe
Heh, that reminded me of this friend of a friend who needed a favor, their spouse needed a website (it was explained to me that this person was a professional photographer) and I found out after I agreed to help that he was actually a pornographic photographer.

If it’s his website and his domain those really should be in his name anyway.
