Website design advice and suggestions

I’m in the process of developing a website for my business where I work as a middle man buy stuff from the all retailers like ebay / play / amazon and thousand others. What people do they send me link of the products which they want to buy and I buy & post on their behalf…

Now I want to develope a website but can’t think of a website design how should it look like ?

Please suggest & advice

Thanks

For now, forget about how it should look and focus on what it should do. What info/content does it need to present? When you have established that, a site structure naturally unfolds, and then the last step is to add some visual style. If you do it in reverse, starting with the looks, you are likely to end up with a crappy site that doesn’t do what it’s supposed to.

I agree and to build on that, I would tell you to also plan as much of what you are trying to do on paper, or some other electronic layout. You should plan on doing some up front wireframing on how you want modules to be placed, but otherwise, it sounds like your process is very manual right now. Focus on automating the manual part and I think your design will fall into place…otherwise, you may find that you’re shoving a square peg in a round hole.

You have a good idea here. And like others have suggested, you should focus on the content in your case. Not so much in the looks. Most people rather trust their money to a website that offers good and clear explanations of the business they run, as well as testimonials. Than any website that looks amazing but explain nothing properly.

Each time I build a site I spend couple days browseing around competitors sites to see how they built it. Then I take the idea of everything I liked about them and try to implement everything they were lacking. I visualize how it will look and how the functionality will work along with the design before I do anything.

Agree with all the advice given here. You should figure out what it should do. Keep in mind you want to make the experience as easy for the end user as possible. My personal take on web design these days is that if you have a FIRM grasp on typography, you can do wonderful things with not much. I love minimalistic designs where the words are laid out perfectly!
