Good day everyone,
I recently enrolled at a Technical College for an AAS Degree in Web Programming.
I’m doing this because I love it! Like many, I could have been an accounting but the thoughts of wearing a suit of being involved in a corporate environment makes me sick. I am not into that culture. I need to do something that brings me joy, something I see as pleasure rather then chore.
My thoughts are, I want to get at least Bachelors Degree in an area that involves web development and programming.
Will an AAS Degree be enough or should I look for something higher?
I personally believe you learn 80 percent from working with projects and even visiting a forum like this rather then a classroom.
Are there people in here with degrees in areas of web programming?

If you want to work in the computer industry (especially in programming) you want to be going for a degree in computer science (not anything else), specifically most employers these days won’t really consider anything outside of it due to the fact that there’s no guarantees that lesser known courses will cover even the right kind of material (or even that it’ll be current enough to count). It’s the only degree I would recommend to anyone wanting to get involved in the web (if you do want to go down the education route). Unfortunately these days so many people have degrees in the industry, they’ve lost most of their value. 
Not sure where I could edit the above thread but the idea is to get an AAS Degree and then transfer all credits to another University for a Degree in Computer Information Systems.
