To add to this though. Linux typically is a more secure server platform due to the OS design and Kernel. However, if you or your host does not regularly update the security and patches that your Linux server distribution provides then you are in just as much danger as any other platform. Make sure you ask your host how often they update their hosting servers?
Another thing to check is if the Linux distribution has already reached it's 'End of Life'. If it has, then no further security or vulnerability patches are supplied. Hosts that are not on top of this will often be running servers that get increasingly less secure the further distance they are away from 'End of Life'.
