Web design mentor?

Greetings everyone!

I find it very difficult to set projects for myself and identify my trouble areas. Does anyone know of a mentorship program of sort or a site that gives you various web design projects? All I’ve really found so far is just sites that have “how-to’s”.

If you know of such a site or wouldn’t mind being a mentor of sort, please let me know! Help in either way would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the read!

Your comments are rather confusing, what are you looking for? If you’re referring to a program in which you work with other professionals and are given projects to give you experience, that’s called an apprenticeship. A mentor is an individual whom you turn to for advice on a regular basis (sort of like a go-to person). Both relate in certain ways to what your question looked like it was after but you’ll need the basic skills underpinned to be able to start working on physical projects.

I don’t think there are any specific programs relating to finding a mentor (though posting your questions on forums are usually a good way to get assistance), however I know of a place that’s attempting to start-up such a thing: http://hello.getsignoff.com/resources/business-mentor/. Hope that’s helpful

Thanks Alex! I didn’t realize how closely that was worded together. So sorry!

In clarification, it’s actually both. Right now, a mentor would be great in the sense that the could give me advice and kind of guide me in a direction I would need to go. Later (but not now), when I have a good grasp on the foundations I could try for an apprenticeship.

As for finding either of them, is the best way just to post on various forums and see if anyone responds?
