Web audio playback tool that tracks play count?

I’m looking to provide audio to adults participating in a research study. I could just give them a static link but would like to keep track of how much each individual person listens to the audio. Is there a web app for playing audio that can track play counts, either by a quick login or by IP? Or maybe I could create a private page for each person and track all plays directly?

To clarify- the ideal thing would be if there’s a web app that can track the total listening time over a period of a couple weeks (i.e., in seconds or minutes) as opposed to a play count that’s defined by an arbitrary data point (in itunes and on myspace it’s listening to the last few seconds).
