W3 validator, no error but 1 warning.. please kindly help

Hi all Sitepoint members,

Can you check http://validator.w3.org/ and search for Bhanvad.com error report? We are getting 0 error ( Passed ) , but 1 warning and not sure how to fix or what kind of warning error?

Can anyone suggest about removing “1 Warning” ?

Thanks

Why worry about a warning that is stating that HTML5 is still isn’t the standard (an probably won’t be for years to come.)

There is nothing you can do about that until HTML5 is a standard. That’s why it’s a warning, not an error.

As others have said whe warning is more about the validator and html5 rather than your site.

W3c validator

The W3C MarkUp Validator:
It does validate HTML5, but validator.nu is arguably more up to date.

Thanks for your reply and suggestion

We have checked on http://validator.nu for Bhanvad.com
Please, select all four options:

  • Be lax about HTTP Content-Type
  • Show Image Report
  • Show Source
  • Show Outline

What we should do about: Empty textual alternative—Omitted from non-graphical presentation ?

That just telling you that you have an image with alt=“” which means the image is purely decoration. If this image is not decoration then add the alt attribute text.

<img id="logo-header" src="directory/biglogo.png" **alt="Logo"** width="169" height="28">

If the image is decoration then it really should be in the background and not in the html anyway (where feasible).

PaulOB, thanks for your reply. Image is clear so nothing to worry

I believe that HTML5 is now standardized.

Hi WolfShade,

Thanks for the article links. It is very nice, but if it was officially declared by W3 than i would not come warning for Bhanvad.com or any other HTML sites. What is your suggestion?

Thanks

Have you considered that the validator just isn’t updated?

It has been officially declared. A simple google search yields thousands of results.
