Vote For The Official SitePoint T-Shirt

That would be #1 then. It doesn’t get any geekier than that

Are you angling for promotion?

No, you should only promote awesome people lawlz.

And regarding the comments about how most of the t-shirt designs looking good on men but not so much on women - As far as I know, there weren’t any women that submitted a t-shirt design.

Amen brotha. Women want to get out of the kitchen, they need to ring their own bells and walk on their own feeeet… ah, Aretha, sistahs are doin it for themselves yeaaa.
Actually you can take most shirt designs, throw them on a baby-doll cut, and they’re doable. Not sure how that would work with #3 really, but my geeky shirts have ninjas on fire and Mexican banditos riding velociraptors and of course Tux, and they all look girly on me because of the cut. : )

I don’t remember voting for any designs but the website does remember me.

I did not get the “sports” theme from #3 but maybe it is because I don’t do sports. I agree that 010 would be much better than 01 because of the binary concept; however, I would not like the explaination. It give me much more pleasure saying “2” not “ten” or “zero one zero.” Also, as far as blue vs orange. I would say Orange with Blue lettering and Blue with Orange lettering.

One last thing. Visually, a lady in a tee is always nice even with a painted on tie.

Yeah, but it takes all kinds. I’d wear it. But then, I do have short hair.

#1 would definitely look hawt on you. Me, I’m just not that awesome : )

Entry #2 is going to win. #3 is too “Sporty”. Web development, isn’t a sport.

Note to self: do some research before wellying and making assumptions  (But I still think that men are more likely to want to wear these than women!)

Second note to self: Stay in the PHP Live forums which is why you joined…!

You guys need a subtle version and a nerd version. I feel like all of these are nerd versions. No offense, but I would not wear any of these three out.

Give me one with a large sitepoint logo without the text on front and the back the same as these. And have the other one for at home nerd parties.

Are you angling for promotion?

#2 but without the curved slogan on the right

So these are the men’s t-shirts and there’ll be another competition for women’s tees, yes?

For goodness’ sake! #1 is a man’s tie, #2 would look awful on anyone with boobies* so the only tee left for us wimminfoik is #3 (which I happen to love but wouldn’t buy in fluorescent orange, 'twould frighten the dogs!).

Sorry to welly in but this is the first I’ve seen of the competition and I’m surprised at how male-centric it all appears.

  • so excludes some of the male population too… :stuck_out_tongue:

Entry #2 has my vote. Interesting concept. Entry #1 is very unique as well.

As I mentioned, it might look ok on a skinny girl with a punk hairdo (short and spikes!) but on someone average-looking like me, it wouldn’t work well. I’ve seen girls walking around with tshirts with fake ties on them. It exists.

Not that bright orange goes well with white-people skin (makes us look pastey) but I’d still wear #3 because orange is socially acceptable around here : )

I’ll also vote for the 010 binary : )

No way Daisy - feel free to state your opinion anywhere you like! That’s what makes this place interesting.

#2 is in the lead now :frowning: It was pretty tight competition between #2 and #3 but #2 is getting a bit of a steady lead now! I really like #3 but perhaps if the end of the poll and comments is really close SitePoint could have all three designs available on their Zazzle store ;)? Leaves everyone happy then :stuck_out_tongue: But I would think #3 would be “Official SitePoint T-Shirt”, in my opinion.

And regarding the comments about how most of the t-shirt designs looking good on men but not so much on women - As far as I know, there weren’t any women that submitted a t-shirt design. The majority of the Web industry is filled with men and so the t-shirts probably do seem more men-oriented. It’s crucial though that we manage to agree on a t-shirt design that is suitable for both men and women to wear and that they look good in the t-shirt and are proud to wear it

Andrew Cooper

I just realized that there is actually a paragraph of code talking about Sitepoint on the front of #2, I guess the lightness of the blue made it unreadable to me…

As for #3, the more I see it, the more I like it.

#1 caught my eye early as ‘cool’, but it didn’t stay with me.

Colors, I love orange!

2&3 are tied as of right now… wow!

Exactly. I’d never wear #1 unless I was male. #3 is actually like something I’d wear.

#2 would have been good without the embarrassing web developer slogan. If it had just been the logo with the code in, it would have been miles better.

I really don’t wear these “geek shirts” if I may call them that but I love the simplicity of #3, it’s actually something I feel like wearing. The color is an excellent comfortable Amsterdam orange!

hmm… I think i would have used any other word instead of “worried”, actually i’m not worried and i’m not a designer though … But i felt that even some more designs appealed me which could have been in the final list and even before sitepoint started the poll, i had a mini poll with my friends and colleagues

I’m happy that i voted for the best within the three…

#1 not good
#2 nice design good for sitepoint evangelist (maybe replace the phrase with a better one)
#3 great sporty color (thinking of wearing same color while playing tennis to distract opponent)
