Virus Protection on Mac

After reading this article, I was wondering what apple virus protection people would suggest using if any?

I’ve had virus protection on my Mac for years, but so far as I know, it’s never picked up anything at all. Anyway, it’s nice to feel safe. There are plenty of companies that offer virus/web protection software. I’m currently using Intego’s VirusBarrier.
