Vibes via email?

Say you email someone about a certain resource via email and all they send you is the link with no greeting or acknowledgement whatsoever. Would you feel somewhat disrespected or do you think that’s fine? Might I be too sensitive or rather intuitive?

I think it’s OK, they’re giving you what you asked for after all.

If you think it’s rude, you need to remember that they’re not being rude to you necessarily, they are like that to everyone.

We just need to accept everyone’s point of view here. :nono:

Small business owners (and large ones), are probably replying to emails from their phone - between meetings or while traveling. Keeping things to the point and communicating with using the least number of words is just the way things are.

For me personally, I always like “fluff”. I guess, I don’t mind either way, but that is what I do. Unless a client asks me to do something I may just do it, and write back with “done!” But it all depends.

I wouldn’t feel any disrespect in that case, maybe the person you emailed is too busy that he/she do not have any time to greet you in email. It’s good to know that she/he replied you with what you are needing. Isn’t enough?

yours was much worse of course. i had to call my shrink after reading it :stuck_out_tongue:

It all depends on the recipient of the email. Let us just practice that whenever we are replying to an email, simply insert Hi or hellos and a thank you word at the end.

Start to be nice. (:

You’re doing it again Another Designer… getting neurotic about the little things and cycling yourself to feel bad… time to go back to the happy gas!

PS: Many people with businesses can literally get hundreds of emails a day, give them credit for at least responding (they could have just ignored it).

hahaha

crazy you posted my message to you

@AD - I prefer a bit of courtesy in emails too - I wouldn’t feel disrespected perhaps they were in a rush? Maybe they don’t do “small talk” or perhaps nothing needed to be said

 :injured:

Yes to which?

you mean, no small talk and cha cha cha-blah blah blah? i would feel relief as i don’t have time for small talk. if they had something to say, that would have been interesting - they would probably have said so.

you should see the emails i’m getting, people swearing, yelling and calling you everything - which is perfectly fine. it’s a part of our culture and language. some does this more than other of course, but it’s kinda fun and adds color to the language/conversation

here is from an email i got today about watching a youtube clip:

“Hey **********,look at this. it’s perfect for fat pigs like you who do nothing 11 months of the year url”

hahaha always cheers me up

yes
