VI in Ubuntu is not behaving good

I find it hard to run VI in Ubuntu.
It prints bad characters, even after I press ( i ) command.
for example,
left arrow prints D,
right arrow prints C,
Up arrow prints A
Down arrow prints B

This makes me difficult to edit the shell commands.
It even adds a line of single characters, and hence destroys my
typing and makes me irritated.

I don’t have complains with VI in CentOS but in Ubuntu.
What can I do for the remedy?

You likely have the minimal version of Vim installed.

Install vim-nox or vim-full
