If I want to encourage traffic to a new site I make, what is the best way to submit an article to reddit etc - I see two options:
Be upfront that this is my site and I want people to check it out and let me know what they think.
Pretend I found the site by accident and think its cool and want to share it.
I would not put any ads up at this point, only add them later once I get a worthwhile daily visitor count.
when you add many urls from the same site it would be obvious what you trying to do.
Usually it is not only with reddit but with almost all the bookmarking sites that block the specific domain if they feel like the user is spamming…
Reddit is good, I started the baseball card subreddit there and now it has 73 members. Usually when I submit an article there, it will get at least a visit or two now.
If you submit your stuff once in a while they won’t mind. I got some good traffic from Reddit but unfortunately I have to submit judiciously.
