Using 'I love' for a business name or Website in conjuction with the 'heart logo'

Dear all,

If I was to start a business called ‘I love X or Y’ and used the traditional heart in my logo, as with I Love NY’, would this be legal?

I am pending a business start but need to check this 1st to stop me from getting into massive trouble if I were to do it.

I am pretty sure there is nothing to stop me having ’ I love’ as my business name or web domain but I am worried about the heart logo.

Can anybody help with this??

I think you’re confusing trademark with legal business name. They’re two totally different concepts. A business can be named what ever you want (and can sometimes have the same name as another company, though that varies by location). Trademarks are different, and are more controlled.

Regarding the heart logo, the only way to be sure would be to do a trademark search in the country or countries where you plan to operate.
