Url redirect in a WP theme

Hello Everyone,

I need someone to show me how to do a url redirect in a WP theme. I can find the line of code that is directing the request using Firebug, but I can’t find the source file in my file manager on the host so that I can make custom changes.

For example, if you go to www.wheretoliveinparker.com and look at the four portfolio items under the text that says, “The Smartest Way to Buy and Sell in Parker.” Those portfolio items automatically link to individual portfolio pages when they are created. I need to redirect those hotlinked portfolio images on the homepage to different pages I’ve created on the site.

I use firebug to determine the source of the url code, but I can’t find the corresponding files in my theme’s file manager on the hosting site to make those changes.

If this is a simple case of showing me exactly where to find the file so that I can make the change, I will pay someone a small fee just to point it out to me. If this requires a bit of coding, I will need an estimate!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!

Hi Kami and welcome to SitePoint

I have taken your email address out and it really isnt necessary to offer payment for help!
I am sure that you will get an answer soon enough

Thanks for that. Sorry if I made a mis-step there. I was just trying to be respectful of people’s time! Thanks much for the advice.

From what I can tell with a bit of code peeking, without owning the Soon theme (nice one btw), It looks to me like those 4 links may be part of the Portfolio Widget that comes with the theme, so look at whatever .php file that widget comes in, in the Plugins directory, and search for ?portfolios= in text search. If you see the four links, in the following code, that’s what you need to change in the “href=” part of the link:

Search Properties

Obviously the class=“cufon” part is where the text title under the little image will be, I imagine you want those to remain the same.
