Trying to determine my CPM rate - Which Ad Networks give estimates?

Greetings,

I have a niche collectibles reference and marketplace site that is gaining a lot of traffic lately, averaging close to 1000 unique visitors and 5000 page views daily.

So my question is: What are the most profitable CPM Ad Networks out there? I was wondering if these Ad Networks can automatically give me an estimate of what my CPM rate is or if I have to send them my web site address and they calculate a CPM rate? I was hoping to find this out beforehand before placing ads on my site.

Someone said I could actually make $50 per day with a $10/CPM rate. Someone else said $0.25 per day with a $0.05/CPM rate. I’m not sure.

I was wondering if anyone had experience with this or a good Ad network that could estimate my site’s CPM rate.

Thanks

I can only speak for Google AdSense, which definitely will not give an estimated CPM for a given site. I doubt if the others will either. Nor is there much point in asking other publishers for their experience.

After all, there are so many factors that could affect the figure: the placement of the ads, their appearance, the relevance of the site’s content, and so on.

And if someone tells you that you can make so-much money with a given network, they don’t know what they’re talking about. The only way to find out is to try it and see.

I do not do CPM because at the end of the day you might not get results. In my opinion CPC provides better results.

the only way to find out is to try them and see the best one for you. my guess is google adsense will give you the best rate.
but you can try valueclickmedia, casalemedia, tribal fusion

That’s not what he was asking. He wanted to know how to find out how much he would earn, expressed in terms on CPM - not whether to show CPM vs CPC ads.

The CPM rates you get is generally dynamically generated from the response to the ads being shown on your site from your users and how many advertisers they have on board which would like to advertise on sites in your niche. Without knowing how your ads will perform, most ad networks would struggle to give you an estimated CPM.

Some networks offer a flat-rate CPM rate for all ads (normally geo-restricted), but they do this by a little guess-work and generally giving you a low-end figure - this way you are likely to outperform that number, but they (not you) will pocket the difference.

The closest to an estimation to what you can get would be to talk to other site owners in your niche, see which ad networks they use and ask them what kind of rates they are seeing. Some people are very helpful!

Hi Peppy,

There are lists of the highest paying ad-networks out there (we are on most of those lists  ), but the most important thing is to contact as many networks possible and get the different offers regarding your traffic.

It’s not surprising you got such different opinions about the money you could make; the best thing to do is to actually try out a few different networks and see which one pays you more at the end of the day.

Remember that the highest proposal might not always be the best one, you should look for a network that stands behind it’s word, that understand that the more you profit- the more they will profit . a good network will give you an account manager and will perform constant optimization on your traffic to make sure all sides are maximizing the profits from the collaboration.

Good Luck!

mostly all the ad networks give cpc & cpm data as part of performance statistics I have used admob, inmobi, adiquity & smaato before & all of them provide the statistics…

I don’t think so…
If you use CPC then at the end of the day you always get results?

CPC is the best option for you cause you traffic is pretty low
