Trouble combining data from two tables

I am trying to display a list of testimonials from the database that includes how many times other users have marked them as a favorite. This query correctly displays the testimonials that contain, ‘palsy’ but its assigning ‘1’ to testimonials where no one has marked them as a favorite. Shouldn’t the favoritized column show ‘0’ in such cases?

Thanks!

select t.tID, t.date, t.summary, t.viewed, f.tID, count(*) as favoritized, MATCH (summary,testimony,keywords)
AGAINST (‘palsy’) AS score from testimonies t left join favorites f
on t.tID = f.tID
where MATCH (summary,testimony,keywords) AGAINST (‘palsy’) and t.approved = ‘Yes’
group by t.tID
order by score desc limit 50;

CREATE TABLE favorites (

uID int(5) NOT NULL,
tID int(5) NOT NULL,
list varchar(20) DEFAULT NULL,

CREATE TABLE testimonies (

change COUNT(*) to COUNT(f.tID)
