Transfering again after transfering

Hello,

you know there is a restriction for new registered domain names. you can’t transfer it unless 60 days pass.

what if I transfered a domain name from a.com to b.com 1 week ago and want to transfer it back to a.com ? any restriction?

Wait at least 60 days since the last domain transfer to request a new transfer.

There are some rules which ICANN coordinates. And every domain name registrar should follow them.

From July you will not get $7 because Verisign is putting the price up so the registrars themselves will be paying more than that.

You have to pay for at least another year’s registration each time you switch registrars and then wait 60 days before you can switch again. So your next switch will cost you a lot more than $7.

If the free hosting comes with the domain registration then you would lose the hosting for 60 days every time you switch the domain to a different registrar.

I don’t know why you don’t want to understand. will try to explain once more.

well first as you say “you guess” about the hosting. real thing is you get the free hosting for the time you are with them.

but this is not our discussion right? we are talking about if we could save when transfering from one registrar to another. today, there are lots of registrars that give lower prices for transfers. so instead of paying 9$, when you transfer it to another registrar you pay 7$. and then you can transfer it back to first or other registrar and you can again get 7$. you can go on like this and not pay more than 7$ or smilar.

I don’t think this is ethical and don’t use this tactic though. but it’s a reality out there.

think again.

when you register for 7$ and transfer to some other registrar who registers for 10$, you save 3$ per 2 years.
and even more as transfer fees are lower.

one has a cheap price to register for long term, the other has free hosting

No because you then have to pay a futher $10 to the second registrar - and they probably only provide the free hosting for the time you pay for the registration with them and not necessarily for the rest of the time. Also with domain registration going up in July the $10 will then be about as cheap as you are going to find registration costs anyway.

Overall moving the registration back and forth will end up costing you more than if you keep it with either one since each switch means you have to pay yet another year ahead with no guarantees that you will ever get the “free” hosting for that time.

May I ask you why do you need to have your domain name transfered so often?

Since you have to pay to extend the registration each time you swap, that difference isn’t going to help save you any money.

ok. thx.

Yes - as you said in your post, you have to wait 60 days before you can transfer the domain from the new registrar. That restriction applies every time you move registrar (as well as most of them expecting you to also renew the domain for a further period when you move it so that they get a payment for the domain straight away).
