I use multiple ad networks on my site, and only some of them will tell me what ads they show. There is currently a campaign for Old Spice running on my site, but this is not listed anywhere in my networks.
After doing some searching in the headers, it is grabbing the ad from doubleclick.net, which I believe is owned by Google. Yet, it does not say that it is a Google ad in the corner like it does for every other ad from Google. Furthermore, other networks other than Google also use doubleclick.net for ad serving.
I am getting paranoid because I don’t know why this ad is on my website.
Make a page in your site, and put the ad code of only one ad network on that page. View the page. If you see the Old Spice ad, you know which network served it.
Just because it’s coming from Doubleclick doesn’t mean Google sold it. Many advertisers use DART For Advertisers (a Doubleclick product) to manage their ad campaigns across multiple sites/networks.
