Tool for comparing files?

Hi all, I have 2 html files, one works, the other doesn’t. They are both very lengthy, so is there some tool that can compare both and let me know where one of them is different to the other?

Are the two files supposed to be indentical?

What you’re looking for is called a diff tool. There are various plugins available for about every IDE (if there’s not one built in already), as well as many online solutions – just have a quick search at the web! :-)

I use Meld.

Thanks for the input. The files are usually html or php - would need a tool for both types. What do you lot recommend, from personal experience?

They are both text files. A text file comparison would handle both.
