Integrating the release of new articles (which may be tagged by date, in part) - does it really matter if pages are gradually introduced live, or more in bulk, say a ten pages or more all at once? Does this matter to the search engines?
Does the number of site pages play in this factor? What about site age?
Search engines don’t care if you add one page or one hundred. They will be crawled either way.
The number of pages doesn’t really matter–good content does.
The age of a page or site is only a small portion of how SERPs are determined. Generally, fresher content is ranked slightly higher compared to other pages with similar content. Trying to “trick” a search engine by constantly updating the page with minor changes won’t have much effect. The post date that you provide is more or less ignored–instead, your page would be considered “updated” if there are significant changes to the content, and not just a few words or sentences swapped around.
Good content is what I have. It is the only reason other sites link in, however much links matters these days…
I do know that Google tracks the graduality of incoming links - which could reflect how ‘natural’ the content is being recognized. Wasn’t sure if the concept carried over to new page introduction.
Where the frequency of introducing new content makes a difference is not with the search engines but with real people. If you try to do updates regularly then someone who returns at regular intervals will always have something new to see. That will encourage people to keep coming back.
If you were to add 100 pages at once and then not change anything for six months instead of spreading the pages out then those who visit and see the 100 pages then have less reason to come back.
Keep updating your website regularly instead of releasing many posts at the same time. The idea is keeping your visitors coming back to your website for more. For search engines it surely does not matter how many pages you upload at once but for your visitors it may be more engaging to release them gradually. It all depends as well on the nature of your website. Some websites, it does not matter at all if you release all the updates at once in one round.
