Thunderbird - Manually Select "From" Field?

[FONT=“Georgia”]Hello.

I’ve been using Thunderbird to manage the various webmail accounts for my apparently growing number of websites.

It’s wondeful, but once or twice in my haste, I’ve accidentally send mail from the wrong e-mail address because it can be so easy to do.

Those of you who know, Thunderbird automatically fills the “From” selection in a new e-mail being composed with the e-mail address of whichever inbox you’re currently looking at.

Is there some way to turn this auto form completion off, so that I’ll have to always, manually choose which “From” address I’d like to use?

It’d be a safety check, to prevent me making that mistake in future.

Anyone?

[FONT=“Georgia”]Alright, I’m trying out an add-on called Identity Chooser.

It’s meant to avoid the same accidents I mentioned up there, but making me select the from identity when I click on the “Write” button, and by highlighting the From field in orange when I reply to a message.

Trying it out for a few days to see if it helps.

Alternatively, you could use the global inbox for all your mail and sort it out using filters. Then I think it would always select to default email account when sending mail.
