Table issue in explorer

This is how it looks on firefox/chrome

this is how it looks like on explorer

Code:

<table class="forum_group_0">
<tbody>
<tr class="table_header">
<th class="category_head">
<span class="category_head_name">Forum 5</span>
<span class="category_head_forum_word">Forums</span>
</th>
<th><span>Topics</span></th>
<th class="lastone"><span>Last post</span></th>
</tr>
<tr class="details_wrap last_wrap group_0_forum_0">
<td class="cat">
<a TARGET="_top" class="fimg" href="http://xxx" ><img src="file_0_s.jpg" alt="" title=""  /></a>
<h4><a TARGET="_top" href="http://dev.fanzila.com/forum/20000/?afu=20001" >Forum 5</a></h4>
<p><p>Forum 5
<div style="width:400px; display:none;" id="placeholder239929">
<img alt="''" width="400" src="file_0_b.jpg"/></div>
</p></p></td>
<td class="topics">
<div class="views views1" title="Views">
<div>
<span class="lt">26</span>
<span class="rt"></span>
</div>
</div>
</td>
<td class="last">
<p><a TARGET="_top" href="http://xxx" >fasfasasffasfasasf</a></p>
<span class="by">by <a href="http://xxx">Dan Revah</a>
</span><span class="post_time">10:24 09/11/2011</a>
</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>

Which version of Explorer? There are lots. :slight_smile:

all of the versions :\

I guess that’s your punishment for using tables where they don’t belong. :smiley: What is your CSS for this?

It looks like the image is too big for the cell it sits in and pushes the tables wide. You probably should have the image in a cell of its own with colspan set to cover all columns. However its difficult to tell without seeing a live example of the full css and html.

Your code is invalid though and you can’t do this:

				<p>
								<p>Forum 5

								<div style="width:400px; background:red" id="placeholder239929"> <img alt="''" width="400" src="file_0_b.jpg"/></div>
								</p>
								</p>

P elements can neither contain other p element nor any block elements. Only inline elements can go inside the p element.

Also make sure you have a full valid doctype or IE will be in quirks mode and give you more headaches.

i do have full doctype that support ie…
the css:

.table_header {
background-color: #0188CC;
}
.category_head {
text-align: right;
}
.last_wrap {
border-bottom: none !important;
border-bottom-style: none !important;
}
.cat {
width: 286px;
text-align: right;
}
.cat h4 {
margin-left: 60px;
margin-right: 60px;
}
.cat p {
margin-top: 2px;
font-weight: bold;
margin-left: 60px;
margin-right: 60px;
}
.topics {
text-align: center !important;
}
.views {
display: inline-block;
color: white;
font-weight: bold;
font-size: 11px;
}
.views .lt {
font-size: 10pt !important;
background: none !important;
color: #5B7A96;
}
.views span.rt {
float: left;
width: 5px;
height: 20px;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
}
.last {
width: 160px;
text-align: right;
}
.last p {
font-size: 8pt;
}
.by {
display: block;
margin-top: 2px;
font-size: 8pt;
color: #ACACAA;
}
.post_time {
color: #ACACAA;
font-size: 8pt;
font-weight: bold;
}

ok i seemed to solve it after putting the image in a new row…
thanks for your help :slight_smile:
