Switching domains- any ranking danger if 301s used?

Hi All,

We’re currently in the process of switching our website from www.northstaranchors.com to anchoring.com. The new website will have all of the same products and articles, etc. but it’s employing a totally new design and some updated features.

We rank OK for a few important keywords for our domain. If we 301 redirect all of our pages, is there any danger in us losing our search engine ranking?

As long as the redirects are set up properly, you shouldn’t see a significant drop. There might be a brief dip while the search engines figure out what’s going on, but it will only be brief and temporary. A 301 means that all your rankings and ratings are transferred to the new page, so apart from the initial dip, you won’t lose out.
