Hey all,
I’ve verified my business on Google Maps and added all the details reviews, photos, services, etc. But it’s still not ranking well, even for local searches.
Anyone else dealt with this? Would love to hear what helped you improve visibility.

Hey, yeah I’ve been there! Verifying and filling out your Google listing is a great start, but ranking locally also depends on stuff like how consistent your NAP (name, address, phone) info is across the web, how many reviews (and responses) you’ve got, local backlinks, and how active you are with posts or updates. Also, check your categories and make sure you’re targeting the right keywords in your description. It takes a bit of time, but small tweaks can make a big difference!
Bonus points to anyone who can show me a ranking anywhere on google that is reproducible.
Personalized results are personal. You dont “rank” anything anywhere except for yourself.
One thing that is always overlooked is adding local citations beyond just the obvious directories ==> niche-specific sites (local healthcare Directory, Local Tech Directories)
Second, regular posts on your Google Business Profile ==> Almost like mini-social media feed, updates, offers, event posts, or even what’s new blurbs. Google favor profiles that are actively maintained.
Lastly, geo-tagging your images before uploading them to your profile can give a small but meaningful edge.
Food of thought:
Did you try using Google’s “Questions and Answers” feature on your profile yet? a few FAQs and answered can not only boost engagement but also sneak in some local keywords naturally.
Good Luck!
Try boosting local backlinks and posting regularly on your GMB profile. Also, double-check your categories—they really matter.
Hey everyone,
I’ve verified my business Kaizen Engineering on Google Maps and added all the details like photos, reviews, and services, but it’s still not showing up
well in local searches. I’m now focusing on keeping my business info consistent across all platforms, getting more reviews and replying to them, posting
regular updates, and using the right local keywords in the description. Hoping these small steps help improve visibility over time.
