Sort post by category using HTML Select tag

Good day wordpress dev. Just want to ask if it is possible to sort, filter or query post using HTML Select tag? This is the design I am trying to develop.

I have been searching for solutions on how to accomplish this and the closest thing i can find is the Select query solution.

Yes I’m sure its possible. You’ll need to use AJAX though, which can be a counter intuitive with WordPress.
