Sooo confused! Which web host is best?

Reseller hosting is still shared hosting, so I don’t see the “relief”.

As for the fewer accounts per server, that’s a fair point, though it’s all about the price one is willing to pay, not some intrinsic quality of reseller accounts. A reseller account at $5 will still mean hundreds of them per server.

I guess the main thing is, it may have 10 reseller accounts - but how many accounts has each of those resellers created? That could come to more than 600 Essentially it is no different to shared hosting.

I do agree that a VPS may be better, but at the very budget end i.e. $15 spent on a VPS may be better spent on a higher quality shared hosting package - as your budget VPS may end up with less resources and thus less performance than a good quality shared hosting account allows you to use.

I’ve spent quite some time on the internet looking around at different hosts and review sites and I’m only getting more and more confused. I want to start an ecommerce site and am looking for a reliable host with good customer support, good on security, has enough web space for me to expand if the shop does well etc. - I can set up oscommerce and make some site pages myself, so that doesn’t specifically have to be included. But no host I’ve read about really jumps out at me as being the ‘one’ I’d really appreciate any suggestions.

I too have done some research on this topic and I find that WinWorld.com has really good customer service. They know exactly what they are doing and tell you everything up front with all of your options and they help you save money. They are a a Christian company I believe and have always been easy to deal with and down to earth and they have lots of options for eCommerce. I would definitely check them out.
