I was unsure of where to place this, since there are no open threads on this subject and elsewhere might have this thread be lost, but yeah.
I was wondering if all entries will be posted after the contest? Or if it’s possible for entries to be all be posted now, and the community can just see the designs of all the individuals? What’s the judges views on that? I see no reason as to why they can’t be posted now, as their judging shouldn’t be tainted (well, actually they can if they point out stuff that is faulty and the judge wouldn’t have noticed).
The entries will not be showcased right now, but rather at the end when all has been judged to avoid any bias.
Also we will ask everyone if they are okay with us publishing their entry before we do.
In the meantime, we will showcase some entries from staff members who joined just for fun. They will be put online somewhere today or tomorrow.
The Judges are very good believe me Ryan and that’s why it will take us a long while. We don’t want flooding with PM and opinionated public comments (regarding specific entries) until we have thoroughly analysed and scored all the submissions.
For the simple reason it may be considered trying to tamper with the Judge’s own integrity and we want a fair unbiased system for all entrants.
Like Remon said, we will also have to ask everyone whom submitted if they are willing to have their submission used within a special showcase.
I would assume you yourself would like to be included in such a gallery.
Even if we opened a thread (before the results) and had it locked. Believe me (going from past personal experience) certain individuals would try to contact myself to gain favour. Also someone would mention the entries somewhere else within SPF - whether intentionally or not.
It is one of the reasons the other judges are not naming themselves. I take a no nonsense approach regarding such attempts anyway but it is beside the point.
You will just have to patently wait and hope we can get the powers that be to allow a showcase for the members that have given us permission when we publish the results.
