"site:" search term and indexed url's

Hi all,
I am new to sitepoint and this is my first post. Looking frwd to have a nice time with u mates.Cheers.

I am having a hobby site which is up and running for a year. But now from last week i did many drastic changes to the site like new keywords, titles, adding adsense, etc and submitted a xml sitemap to webmaster tool.

But my question is what does this “site:” keyword in google search mean. If that is about showing the number of pages indexed from my site, then i am getting jus 4 and its still my old ones.

But in my webmaster tool it shows like submitted url’s 130 indexed url’s 103. Why i am not getting the indexed url’s in search? this is the case for almost 3 days now.

I did a valuable search on google topic in the SEO section of this forum before posting this question. If i have started a same kind of thread again, (admin) please feel free to redirect the question and delete the thread.

The different searches in the public Google search such as site: and link: provide data, but not all data for your site. The best place to find the most accurate data about your website is what you’re already using, Google Webmaster Tools.

Don’t be discouraged if you’re not seeing all your information in the Google public search when using those types of searches. (:

It can take up to several weeks for a new page to get indexed by Google. That could explain the discrepancy.

I would suggest that you keep pages updated.

Three days is nothing. They have billions and billions of pages to deal with.
