Simple Reservation Script in PHP

I am a novice to PHP, and have been hit with a task to code a PHP-based reservation system. It is very basic and am sure it could be knocked up in a few minutes by someone who isn’t so inept.
It needs to generate a page to allow a person to be able to book a room from a number of motels, they will be allowed to book more than one room, and there’s only single and double rooms. After that, the text file just needs to be updated so it will allow people to see if all the rooms are booked in a hotel.
It sounds completely easy if I knew what I was doing, unfortunately I do not.

Any help would be extremely appreciated.

There’s not any free ones i found on hotscripts, but have a look at the options there:

there are heaps of free shopping carts - I wonder why no reservation scripts. I have also looked and found nothing so far. Like Will I don’t really want to write something like that from scratch.
