Simple question about CSS

Hi There,

I was checking CSS of my new template, and found some CSS code that I don’t understand.

Please help me to know the meaning of “>” given below:

#menu > ul > li ul > li > a:hover {

Thanks in advance for your help and consideration.

The “>” is a child selector and selects only the immediate children of the element unlike the descendant selector ( a space) which would select all nested child elements that match.

You will find a detailed example in the Sitepoint reference so read that first and if you still don’t understand then come back here and we’ll break it down some more.:slight_smile:
