I am working on marketing a new website I purchased several months ago. I need to work on link building (and have been) for a while, but I don’t have a lot of time for it.
I know that most suggest to spend time on this myself, and find quality links, which I agree with.
That being said, with my lack of time I need to outsource. I got a proposal from someone who will build a few hundred links in about 3 months, including social media links etc. The cost is reasonable… and the pages will have relevant topics…
But, will this be worth it? If I HAVE to outsource, what is the best route?
it depends on SEO you need. If you have a big website you need a big SEO, so doing it yourself it cost just too much time. On the other hand, for small websites doing SEO
yourself is a good solution.
There’s nothing wrong with this, provided the person who does it understands the importance of quality links that are relevant to the site. The sites they target must be hand-selected, and the approach to the webmaster has to be as non-spammy as possible.
What you don’t want is a service that just blanket-mails vast numbers of sites in the hope of getting a few links. And you should definitely avoid automated services, or those that promote artificial link exhange schemes.
If you’re going to hire someone, make sure that you do a little background check on the things that they do. Check for reviews of their services, and maybe some testimonials to see if they really make quality links. You mentioned that you don’t have the time to do it, so I guess it’s either this site is pretty big, or you have a lot of things to do for your business which is much more important than building links for the site.
Set a limited budget, try your source and look at the results at the end of the experiment. If they deliver numbers that fit your ROI, spend more money. If they don’t, look for someone else.
