Have a look at the SEO forum here - there are a load of ‘sticky’ threads at the top that will tell you everything you need to know and plenty that you don’t!
“SEO” and design are two totally different things.
“Design” is about layout and presentation
“SEO” is about your content, what you write and how you write it
