Self-publishing

If you have self-published a book, how much could you typically charge for a publisher to buy the rights to sell it?

[FONT=verdana]It’s impossible to answer that question. We would need to know much more about the book, its target audience, how much it costs to produce, how many publishers are likely to be interested, how many copies were sold in the self-published edition, how much competition there is, and quite a lot more. And even then, only the publisher can know how much it is worth to them to publish it.

Did you consider concentrating on selling it yourself through a website, amazon and Ibookstore? A self-publisher I know did great by himself, and started receiving offers from publishers putting him in place to negotiate great terms instead of getting ripped off.

Well, if you’ve already self-published it, and it’s going well, there’s a good chance you wouldn’t want to sell it since you make much more per book than if you went through a publisher

The distribution they have is nice, but there are loopholes to be able to get the same distribution if you put the work in.

You’re asking the wrong questions
