SelectBox validates in IE but not in FF

Having a problem with validation, it’s been a while since i have done some javascript but i’m pretty sure it used to work on both browsers but i can’t get this to validate in FF…any suggestions welcomed.

form :

     Mileage*:

        Please Select
		0-25
        26-50
        51-75
        76-100
		Over 100

function blanks()

function validate()

MySelect = document.form1.MySelect.options[form1.MySelect.selectedIndex].value;

if (document.form1.MySelect.options[form1.MySelect.selectedIndex].value==‘none’)

alert("Please enter your mileage")
alert("thank you")

i’ve tried slight variations and had no luck with FF

What DOES or DOES NOT happen in FF versus IE? What difference are you seeing?

I actually got it working, FF doest not recognise the stuff highlighted in blue (pretty sure it used to a couple of years ago) anyways if anyone else gets stuck:

This works

<option value=“Please Select” selected>Select Distance
0-25 Miles
26-50 miles

function validate()

var selBox = document.getElementById(‘mileage’);

if (selBox.value == 0)

alert(“Please enter your move distance”)
