JollyWallet is an ad-supported (users may see additional banner, search, pop-up, pop-under, interstitial and in-text link advertisements) cross web browser plugin for Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome, and distributed through various monetization platforms during installation.
JollyWallet is typically added when you install another free software (video recording/streaming, download-managers or PDF creators) that had bundled into their installation this adware program.
As Pullo said it is adware (basically a virus) and you need to rid them from your system. You probably downloaded it with some other free software or it was hiding in some other package you downloaded.
on practically every site I visit I get pop-ups now (I don’t see the content, as I close them before the content appears… actually not a pop-up, a new tab…) it happens even on Sitepoint, when I start typing here on the forum… I close the tab, and it opens another one immediately afterwards…
so: I need instructions on how to get rid of this FOR THE MAC… instructions I see online are all for Windows… I looked in Apps folder… don’t see anything that looks remotely like it could be this thing…
(maybe should post on a mac OS forum? or can someone here help me?)
are you saying I need to purchase an anti-virus program? this is the only solution to this problem?
(no free sw/utility out there with which I can accomplish this?)
actually, I see that some of them are free…
thank you Paul…
(however: did you see comment here by EvilDave (the longest comment)?? it’s intriguing, to say the least… am really curious now… as to what the tools are that come with the mac for tackling this (he doesn’t mention them…;~)
