My mom has this virus on her computer and she can’t open any browser to download a new anti virus software and SUPERAntiSpyware didn’t detect anything. The task manager won’t open either. I’m afraid to use a flash drive to move an anti virus software from my computer to her computer because I’m afraid the flash drive will then be effected.
Side note: It’s not without risk, but putting an infected USB drive into a healthy PC with up-to-date AV should be okay, just ensure auto-play is disabled.
Think of it this way: the writers of these things have to deal with storing and moving them around without infecting themselves - it’s just a file until you execute it.
As rushiku said, probably the safest thing is to use a virus-clean virus to create a book disk and then run it through your mother’s computer.
With a bit of luck, it will clean it… with a bit of less luck, you will have the name of the virus, do a search in Google and get the instructions to clean it manually
clear all your tempfiles and temporary internet files
download malwarebytes antimalware and put it on a cd/flashdrive
reboot your mom’s pc and start up in safe mode without network - in safe mode you can go to msconfig and remove the rogue-ware from startup
then install malwarebytes antimalware and run it
reboot into safe mode with network - run malwarebytes antimalware and update it - run it again
reboot into safe mode without network - run malwarebytes antimalware -> reboot
if you are unsure about how the removal went download Hijackthis and “do a scan only” and have a look at the logfile - post the log here if you are unsure of how to use it - don’t delete anything you are unsure of, as it may result in the pc not booting up again.
