Scam alert nationalpositions.com

I figure most webmasters already know to watch out for this stuff but I thought it would be a good idea to post here for 2 reasons.

  1. increase awareness about an increasingly popular scam
  2. identify Ideas to combat the problem.

One of my more popular websites was hit hard with spam URL’s over the past few weeks. What was odd about these URL’s were they were for legitimate US based companies instead of the usual viagra, replica watches etc.

I did some whois lookups and contacted the site owners to blast them for spamming me. Very quickly I realized they had hired a “SEO company” to build backlinks and they were oblivious to what was being done in there name. The company scamming people and spamming us all is nationalpositions.com the email message is nearly always the same and almost always using a free email account for the initial contact.

“We would like to get your website on first page of Google. All of our processes use the most ethical “white hat” Search Engine Optimization techniques that will not get your website banned or penalized.”

I’ve already made a voodoo doll of their managers names, and am currently burning their feet and needling their eyes… any other ideas? :shifty:

Thanks for the heads up.
