Sawblade in Illustrator?

I’m kind of stuck on what tool to use. I want to draw a sawblade for a friend of mine’s business card, but I can’t use the pen tool to make it look right. Does anyone know about tutorials or something? I"m still trying to get the pen tool down, because I think that would be best, but I’m not sure.

In my opinion, the pen tool is a big part of illustrator, and I think in order to get a custom shape to appear as you would like it to, the pen tool really is the only solution.

How about you list which parts you are having problems with and how the pen tool is reacting (or not reacting), and we’ll see if we can help you out.

Kind regards,

Ben (want2design).

I figure I would just draw a circle, and a knockout circle inside of it. The hardest part is getting the teeth. The triangle-type teeth where the tip is dragged to the left. I can draw a triangle, but I can’t get it to look like the teeth in the image above. I tried converted the top point to a curved point, but I can’t get the right look…

The pen tool in Illy is awkward at the best of times…

I’ll send you the exported Illustrator vector/eps of this if you like.
