Save For Web Color Shift - definitive guide?

i’ve just “dealt with” this for years now. tried all the tips that google pulls up on multiple computers and I can never get it right. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Is there any definitive guide to tackling the save for web color shift in photoshop?

I really liked this tutorial, which is very simple and works perfectly for me:

I’ve heard some people rail against this approach, but they’ve never explained to me what’s wrong with it.

I agree with Ralph.

This tutorial works fine with me as well.

hmmm…i’ve been through that one, but am still having the problem. i’ll try it again. thanks

That is a pretty solid tute, the main thing is that you set your photoshop colour settings to use sRGB profiles for RGB and when you get to save-for-web, you make sure that embed color profile is off and that you have convert to sRGB on.

The basics for working out these colours is that if it’s happening, there must be a colour profile or mode interfering in the process.

You should hopefully be producing good colours now. If not, make sure that you’re choosing your bg colours using the picker and from dreamweaver #FFFFFF style values.
