Same article, different directories

Very interesting topic. I don’t know other countries, but I know in my country there are so many people who just see a nice article and put it in their sites without even asking permission. They do that maybe with good intentions or they just dont understand the ownership of an information product. Whatever. I just wonder if we publish an article in our site first and then, one week later someone takes and publish it in their site what happens. I mean which site’s PR goes under risk. Will my site’s Google PR be affected negatively, because of that duplicated content which I am not guilty about?

In theory, Google should recognise your site as the original source of the article, and ignore any duplicates of it on other sites. In practice, I don’t know exactly how successfully that works out…

Thank you Stevie and all guys who commented on this topic. Before reading all these comments I was thinking to run the same content on two different domains. Now I know it is not a good idea. Instead, I will run my content on one domain and I will only put tasters and links of my content on my second domain.

Off course you can, but it should be avoided. As Google does not value duplicate results, it is advisable to have fresh content for each article site/directory. It always helps and Google loves fresh content!

You should submit one article in one directory or in two after spin article.I would have thought your energy would be better spent writing more articles and submitting to less directories.

I am against the spinning of articles, I think with spinning’s and rewriting the complete Content writing gets a bad name. I think if we could focus more on quality and originality the results would be much faster and swift. I would still recommend Unique article in unique sites…

Yes, you can, but if you’re doing white hat seo as per google webmaster guide line then no need to do like this, You should know that when you’re going to post any article or search engines always like unique/fresh content not like spammy.

in my views, you should submit one article to one directory only but that directory should be of high PR. Submitting articles to high PR article directory is more beneficial than submitting it to more than 1 article directories having low PR. As high PR article directories’ articles are manually reviewed and only activated if you have submitted unique and quality article.
