Review my new site

Sorry, I meant to say when I adjust the width of my browser. But if you want to know the screen size, I’m using a 1920 x 1080 pixel desktop monitor. The browsers I’m currently testing it in are Chrome and Firefox. Playing around with the size of a browser window is a good way to determine how a web site looks on different screen sizes.

@BestWeb yes highest width on my laptop is 1326 and it is working fine in that screen and on 1200 it is perfectly ok and it comes down slowly when screen size increases because it has to set it again according to that width. It is happening on the screen size more than 1700 i guess

Benny I didn’t went through all the comments of this post as well as the other two.

Saw your website http://www.examportal.somee.com/

  1. I dont agree with those who say Don’t use JavaScript or Jquery.

  2. I dont agree with those who say they disable or enable Javascript in their browsers.

  3. Stop thinking about future of JavaScript or Jquery.

  4. Your website needs a good design. Right now design in not good. Get a nice logo.

  5. Banner should not be two images like they are. Either it should be one image or else make your website Box type instead of Full width.

  6. That grey area and that news column is horrible. Redesign them.Learn about UI/UX. Go to Dribble or Behance and look the designs.

Nav bar doesn’t works properly in mobile. In mobile the drop downs should be click and not hover

Thank you

Well, I wanted a feedback as to its responsiveness.
Thanks.

That side bar nav ?

Off Topic

I have moved the last three posts here out of the JavaScript discussion, as it was becoming confused and difficult to follow.

Dear Good fellows,

A quick intervention - and without further ado, that’s all that flipped through my mind and guess what, it’s still about my unadmirable site http://www.examportal.somee.com (though no need for complete design change) - with the 2nd slider and the text in there i.e Hey buddy, the chance to win… to be exact.

Kindly, suggest me any smart design for this bottom slider with the said text (pls, you can give me smart text too - hope you don’t mind) because it’s informative text in my opinion - hope my request is not too broad @TechnoBear.

Many thanks!

The site is now loading, apart from the slider. I see very little difference from your last “update”. Most of the site appears to be a WordPress template with irrelevant content, some of it very badly displayed.

Once again, you are referring to a static image as a slider. A slider is another name for a slide show or carousel, and refers to changing images.

That section looks odd, as the image seems “greyed out”, as if it should be interactive and is for some reason unavailable.

The text there is at odds with the text elsewhere on the site. Your introductory section “Welcome To WYP” is written in a completely different style. The overall impression is that you can’t decide whether your site is aimed at children, or at their parents and teachers. But what does “Welcome To WYP” mean? What is WYP? I can’t find anything on your site which tells me what those initials stand for.

Despite feedback from me and several others about the lack of useful content on the site, you appear to have made no changes in this respect. Forget about making cosmetic changes to the layout. Instead, make a serious effort to get all the relevant content in place, and then design the site around it.

  1. Who is the site for? (Parents, teachers, children or all of those?)
  2. Which country or countries? Or can anybody worldwide register?
  3. Which subjects do these exams cover?
  4. When will these exams be held?
  5. Are these online exams, or do candidates need to take a written exam? If the latter, then what are the arrangements and location(s)?
  6. How many prizes will be awarded for each exam? What is the criteria for winning?
(This is not an exhaustive list - just some points to get you thinking.)

A “site review” request should be made when a site is fairly well completed. This site remains very far from that stage. I would strongly suggest that while it is under development, you prevent Google and other search engines from indexing it.

There is a great deal of quality feedback in this topic. The onus is now on you to make good use of it.
