Hi, is it possible to show the page numbers in ascending order in wordpress so page 1 remains page 1 and the newest page is the bigger number
1 is old 7 is new

Under edit page there is a box for page order. The default value for each page is 0 which sorts the pages alphabetically. You can change the sort order by changing the page order value - lower numbered pages are listed first. For example, if you want the current first page to display last out of 7 pages, change the page order value from 0 to 7. Repeat as necessary (using different values, of course) for all the pages you would like to resort.
I timed out before completing this edit but I wanted to clarify my above post:

For example, if you want the current first page to continue to display first and subsequent pages to in a different order, keep the first page’s page order at the default “0” - remember, the lower the number, the higher the priority on the list. Change the page order value of subsequent pages so that they display the order you choose.
With respect to page order numbering, a system that works well for me is to use four digit page order numbers with 1000 (the lowest number) displaying first, 2000 displaying second, etc. This gives me plenty room to add subpages with page order numbers reflecting the parent page. For example, if I assigned a value of 2000 to my about page order, I can assign the first subpage as 2010, the second subpage as 2010.
Or, if I need to insert a top-level page between two other top-level pages - for example, let’s say pages with the page order numbers 2000 and 3000, I’ll assign the page order value of 2500, again giving me plenty of room to insert future additional pages on either side.
This method of page order numbering keeps my pages and subpages organized and provides an easy way to add pages or subpages without having to renumber the page order of already existing pages.
