@PaulOB Thanks matey
I do like tinkering with web design, but it’s not really the main structure of my business, so any skills I do learn, will only ever be used on a very infrequent basis. Any acquired skills will prob end up being more for personal achievement and satisfaction.
My next stage is to link an ecommerce site to it. On the main page is a blank button that has been reserved for this purpose, to link to separate responsive & custom designed shop site.
Am I going to be faced with similar problems, regarding JS ? Do you have any pointers that I should consider before going ahead. I’m more inclined to go with a free open source option as I really can’t afford a monthly subscription and the scale of the shop will continuously grow. The business has been trading for a number of years and we’ve taken quite a hit due to the COVID situation and I’m desperate to kick-start it again in a timely manner.
I really quite like the Opencart over and above Zencart (which I used many years ago) but I don’t like the basic out of the box templates with the open source packages so I would have been heading towards another “template” or available theme scenario.
As always, I’m really appreciating your help, time and effort for me
I’m afraid that’s not my area as I’m strictly front end css & html. I always leave that side of things to someone else
You would be better off starting a new thread about that in the relevant forum. Perhaps do a search first as I’m sure that question will have been answered before.
If you enjoy it then carry on tinkering
@PaulOB
.
Cheers, I’ll certainly do that.
Just out of curiosity, don’t suppose you freelance your skills ?
Not any more
I retired from web development a few years ago and just do it for fun now
@PaulOB Can’t really blame you
Thanks for everything
