Repeating background issue

on this page that “Click to View Larger” atop the gallery is actually a background image.

I’m using this CSS:

#shopp .gallery {background:url(/wp-content/uploads/site-elements/gallerytext.png) no-repeat center top;}

why is it repeating vertically despite the fact that I have the “no-repeat” in the CSS?

please advise. thanks in advance.

It appears you are applying the background image twice.
In Firebug, I modified line 191 of style.css by removing the reference to “gallery” class and the image appeared correctly.

It still seems a puzzle WHY this is causing your problem, exactly.

Thanks but I can’t put it on just #shopp because then it also appears on my cart and checkout pages.

Really, though, important text like this should be actual text, not a background image.

Did you do something to fix this issue? I was under the assumption you weren’t going to use ParkinT’s idea (and it doesn’t look like you have)

Yes, something has changed, as it’s not duplicating now.

it’s not an ideal solution. more of a work in progress until i cleanup the validation errors but i did this:

moved css from #shopp .gallery to #shopp .gallery .previews

#shopp .gallery .previews {
    background: url("/wp-content/uploads/site-elements/gallerytext.png") no-repeat scroll center top transparent;

No. It should really be actual text in your HTML.
