Repeat password doesnt work

Hi i’m trying to create a form wher user has a fields to enter password and then repeat password if password and repeat password doenst match echo error password doesnt match

this is my password and repeat validation code


 $field = "pass";  //Use field name for password
      if(!$subpass){

      }

this are the html form for both

the problem is that it says Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in line 94 which this is the line

     $_SESSION['reguname'] = $_POST['user'];

$retval = $session->register($_POST[‘user’], $_POST[‘pass’], $_POST[‘email’], $_POST[‘repeatpassword’]');

i see red blue black and green which color should signal wrong??
